When times get tough

My husband is one of the strongest people I know. He is my best friend and my support. Wednesday he went to the doctor, and found out the medical issue he was having was much more serious that we had realized. He was sent directly to the emergency room.

It’s crazy how sometimes having a scare like this can be a blessing in disguise. I know my sister-in-law has a saying that everyday that you wake up is a good day. James, my husband has never been so motivated to change eating habits that have caused him to now have diabetes. He has never been so ready to take care of himself.

I am so sad that it took this tragedy to scare him into taking care of himself, but I look forward to so many years with my best friend by my side. It is devastating to come home from the hospital each night alone, to not hear the mesmerizing sound of his breathing next to me.

I miss him like crazy, even though he is less than 10 minutes away. It’s like an ocean is separating us. I can’t wait to use this tragedy as a second chance, and a new beginning. ❤️
